Consists of two 250 MW Combustion Turbine Generators (CTGs) that are connected to unfired Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs).
The HRSGs use the exhaust gases from the CTGs to produce steam, which then powers a 250 MW Steam Turbine Generator (STG).
The total estimated net output of the project is 750 MW, achieved by burning natural gas in the CTGs and controlling Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions with Dry Low-NOx (DLN) combustors.
The CTGs and STG generate power at 21 kV and are stepped up through main transformers before being fed to the utility grid via a 220 kV switchyard.
The plant utilizes the cooling water from Damietta branch of the Nile River.
The project was executed using a multi-package system, involving 8 contracting packages and purchase orders for equipment and services.
