PLANT DESCRIPTION
750 MW plant consisting of two 250 MW combustion turbine generators (CTGs) and one 250 MW, reheat, condensing steam turbine generator (STG). Each CTG has its own heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) without supplementary firing, which produces steam that is then fed to the STG. Dry low NOx (DLN) combustors are used to control Nitrogen Oxide emissions. The CTGs receive filtered combustion air through an inlet air filtration system. The steam exhausted by the STG is cooled through a once-through cooling system with a single-pass, divided water-box condenser. The generated power is stepped up through main transformers and transmitted to the national grid via a 500 kV conventional switchyard. The plant utilizes the Rayah El Nasery Canal for cooling water. The project was executed using a multi-package system, with 14 contracting packages and purchase orders procured for equipment and services.
