project details

New Capital Combined Cycle Power Plant - 4800 MW

Region: Egypt Status: Completed

PLANT DESCRIPTION

Eight Siemens Combustion Turbine Generators (CTGs) which are gas-fired turbine generator equipment packages. There are also eight Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) of the Benson type, four Siemens STGs, and four Air Cooled Condensers (ACCs). The plant utilizes seawater as its raw water source and operates solely on fuel gas. The power generated is stepped up through main transformers and fed to the utility 500 kV grid via a gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) switchyard.

The major commodities/systems in the plant include the power block (gas turbine, generator, HRSGs, STGs, and auxiliaries), air cooled condensers, balance of plant (transformers, switchgears, diesel generator, and balance of mechanical/electrical systems), a 500 kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS), and a water treatment plant.
