The West Damietta project is situated on the Mediterranean Sea north coast, near Damietta City, with an existing facility featuring four combustion turbine generators. The new project involves the addition of a combined cycle module with a 4x4x1 configuration, utilizing four combustion turbines from the existing units and incorporating four heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and one 250 MW steam turbine unit. The facility achieves a net output of 250 MW by burning natural gas in the combustion turbines. The steam generated feeds a non-reheat, condensing steam turbine generator, and the exhaust is directed to an air-cooled condenser for cooling. The power generated is transmitted to the utility grid through a main transformer and an existing switchyard facility. The project's contracting plan employed a multi-package system with eight contracting packages and purchase orders to procure equipment and services.
