project details

Burullus Power Project 4800 MW

Region: Egypt Status: Completed

PLANT DESCRIPTION

Eight Siemens combustion turbine generators using gas as fuel, complemented by associated balance of plant systems. It also incorporates eight NEM Benson-type heat recovery steam generators, four Siemens steam turbine generators, four water-cooled condensers, and four cooling towers, each with their respective balance of plant systems. The facility utilizes seawater as its raw water source and primarily operates on fuel gas, with two combustion turbine generators capable of using light fuel oil if necessary. Power generated undergoes step-up through main transformers and is then transmitted to the 500 kV grid through gas-insulated switchgear. The plant encompasses various systems, including power block components, cooling towers, balance of plant elements, a 500 kV GIS, and a water treatment plant.
