PLANT DESCRIPTION
Consists of two modules, each containing two 250 MW combustion turbine generators (CTGs). The exhaust gases from each CTG are directed to their respective heat recovery steam generator (HRSG). The steam from the HRSGs is then supplied to a 250 MW reheater, condensing steam turbine generator (STG). The project achieves an estimated net output of 1500 MW by burning natural gas in the CTGs without additional HRSG firing. The emissions of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) are controlled using dry low-NOx (DLN) combustors. The CTGs and STG generate power at 21 kV, which is stepped up through main transformers before being fed into the utility grid via a 220 kV (GIS) switchyard. Plant cooling water is provided by the Ismailia Canal. The project utilized a multi-package system with 16 contracting packages and purchase orders to procure equipment and services.
