Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company is a joint venture shared by Dragon Oil and EGPC (Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation). R/SH Powerhouse is an onshore gas turbine power generation plant located at Ras Shukeir in the East of Egypt near to the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company.It has nine turbine-generators sets provided with PMS.


R/SH powerhouse had electro-mechanical protection relays, circuit breakers, transformers, conventional control, the mostly existing Components were obsolete and no longer available by the original manufacturer, so it was necessary to upgrade the Powerhouse. Required upgrades were implemented but several trip incidents occurred causing un-stability to the powerhouse operation.

Preparing a tender and invite interested tenderers to execute a limited operation for replacing the porcelain insulators with rubber insulators of MidElec 66kV OHTLs (M1, M2 & M3) and applying RTV protective coatings as needed.
 
The outline of the intended work will include the listed below activities:
 
Phase 1 (11 weeks)
  1. Surveys (for Site and Market)
  2. Tender Preparation including General, Special Conditions and technical requirements.
  3. Invitation to Tenderers
  4. Receiving/Responding to Tenderer Clarifications (if any)
  5. Receiving offers and Evaluation 
  6. Recommendation Report, preparation of final Contract and issuance draft LOA. 
  7. Following-up the insulators’ manufacturing and attending factory testing if required and notifying Midelec that the insulators are ready to be used for phase 2 (Construction and installation phase).
